Elijah Project: Day 3

The Elijah Project. This project is basically me committing to 365 days of prayer. God placed this idea on my friend Leeanna's heart and when she told me about it I knew I needed to join her. What we are committing to is praying for a specific country every day as well as anything else the Lord put's on our hearts. Leeanna describes the project well in her blog http://ljphotohut.blogspot.com/. Prayer is essential and necessary and it works. Recently my prayer life has become quiet and weak, I don't want that. My God is greater than those weak prayers, instead I want to become a warrior in my prayers. As believers we are a part of a real battle and we need to be praying boldly and expectantly.
So I am a little late starting on this blog thing but Leeanna and I are on day 3 of the 365 and today we are battling for the country of Albania. 


All this info I took from Leeanna's blog which was taken from Operation World by Jason Mandryke. 
Here's what you can be praying for:

1) In this time of rebuilding, both politically and economically, pray for influence from Christian leaders. This is a very crucial time in their history and Biblical ethics are not very common in these areas.

2) 62% of the nation of Albania is Muslim with a 2% growth increase each year. Christianity on the other hand is steadily declining by .5%.

Although the freedom of religion is cherished by Albanians, many don’t wish to fall into “religious entrenchment” and the superstition and folk Islam is what draws them.

3) Along with this Muslim growth, there is unfortunately fewer long term missionaries in Albania than when the communist hold first fell. Pray that many leaders will rise up in their own country to bring discipleship.

· Pray for leadership training, evangelism and church planting, a new growth of holistic missions, and for the missionaries that are being sent out from Albania.


What God placed on my heart for Albania:


Spiritual Poverty. Lord teach these people of the wealth found in knowing you. Show them that you offer a gift so much greater than any earthly wealth. Father cause your children in Albania to thirst for you and to pursue you. Set a fire in the believers there, Lord I pray for boldness in the church. Raise up leaders who will begin a revival. Lord dust off your soldiers in Albania remind them that they no longer have to hide. It is for freedom that you have set them free (Galations 5:1). Change that declining percentage grow your church this year Father. Lord I pray against the power of fear in the name of Jesus.  Show your people that you are worth it, that they need you. I pray against apathy, Lord light a fire in your people don't let this country become dormant in their faith. Give them a desire for more of you, I pray that they would never stop seeking you and longing for you. Rebuild this nation with a fiery passion for declaring your holy name.
